Chad Sheets

Hi, I'm Chad. I'm an engineer at Microsoft. I spent nine years building classroom tools for students and teachers, and now I work on enterprise commerce software, where a lot of my time goes into how we use AI to write and check code.

What I care about most is the person using the thing: whether it loads fast, makes sense the first time, and still works next month. Most of my job is keeping the answer yes.

Before software I spent eight years as an oilfield engineer with Schlumberger, in Louisiana, Angola, and Alaska. I grew up in Ohio and live near Seattle.

This site is where I keep notes for my future, forgetful self, mostly things I fixed once and will need to fix again. The longer work history is on the resume.
